I had this background inspired by one of Terri Sproul's Video's https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7G2cBbrwsk - "How to get Texture on your Art Journal pages." I did the background and then didn't know which way to go. I believe that the blue is sky blue silks by Colour Arte.
I have seen several pages done with the use of feathers and I loved them so much I wanted to make my own but make it different. Linda Anne Smith's Feather Flames http://www.colourarte.com/blog/?p=1933 and paper feathers https://www.facebook.com/ColourArte/photos/a.307921742736946.1073741828.231602303702224/369287859933667/?type=1&permPage=1
So I cut out a circle and covered it in ribbon which I colored with Vintage Velvet by Ranger Ink. The I got out my trusty little spirograph and made the inside design, I cut it out and glued Jewelry tread over the design. I used Spellbinders Feathers to cut out the feathers and painted them with Colour Arte silks ( I've lost my list :( ) Added silk and paper flowers from my stash as well as the butterfly embellishment.
Today I added the wolf's head, deep red stamps, and spritzed the page using Tim Holtz distress spritzer and his Frayed Burlap Distress pen.
You'll also notice some odd additions: The humming bird for my mom, the butterfly for my baby sister Tammi whom I lost to cancer in November, the Giraffe for her youngest daughter, a Heart for her other daughter, the dragonfly for my Niece Crystal, the Teddy bear for my two grandnephews and last but not least the lady bug for me, My fraternal grandparents always called me Doodlebug. For me its a reminder of the ones I love. I hide them most of the time and will eventually add a Light house from my big brother, a swan for his wife and a tiny dragon for my Nephews.
